ID Sessions

Every player joins EKS through an ID session. It gives our coaches the chance to see your player train, and gives you the chance to see how we coach. Sessions are open year-round for every age group, from Pre-Academy to Academy.

How It Works

    Request an ID session

    Use the Request ID Session button and choose your player's age group. There is no cost to request a session.

  2. 2

    We contact you

    A coach gets in touch to confirm the date, time and field for the session.

  3. 3

    Your player trains with the team

    Players join a regular team practice, so we see them in a real training environment with players at their level.

  4. 4

    Our coaches evaluate

    The head coach and coaching staff look at technique, decision-making, attitude and how the player responds to coaching. We may invite a player back for a second session before deciding.

  5. 5

    We follow up

    We contact you with a roster offer or a recommendation for the right team or program for your player.

What We Look For

Technique
First touch, ball mastery, passing and comfort with both feet
Decision-making
Scanning, choosing the right option and playing under pressure
Attitude
Effort, focus and willingness to be challenged
Coachability
How quickly the player takes on feedback during the session

We evaluate players on potential as well as current level. One session is not a final verdict, and nerves or an off day are taken into account.

What to Bring

  • —Cleats and shin guards

  • —Arrive 10 minutes early
